Let's face it, we're still trying to get the time to stop blinking on the VCR. So how many of us will actually use the video feature on our 3G phone?

There will be around 142 million 3G phone subscribers in Asia by 2009. Here's how to get ahead of most of them and phone someone to say hello face to face.

1. First, ensure you have a 3G SIM card in your 3G phone.

2. Under phone settings, select ‘Dual Mode' to access the 3G network.

3. Dial the number you want to call.
(Note: the person you call must also have 3G access.)

4. Go to ‘Options' and select ‘Call'. Then select ‘Video'.

5. Press the dial button and wait for your friend to answer and appear on your mobile phone.

6. Remember to smile.
